Hollyland’s Pyro 5 empowers filmmakers to capture motion and emotion with precision — even under low-light, high-pressure conditions.
Based in Bordeux, France, Melghazz is a photographer, artistic director, and filmmaker known for blending aesthetic vision with technical discipline. For a recent project, he created a short presentation film for a French-Algerian boxer preparing for an international competition. The one-minute cinematic piece showcased strength, focus, and emotion. Working closely with the boxer’s sponsor MetalBoxe, Melghazz managed the entire process himself, from location scouting and storyboarding to post-production, completing everything in just two days.

The shoot took place in a local boxing gym with limited power outlets and changing light. To maintain focus on the boxer and avoid background distractions, Melghazz relied on two compact wireless Godox lights and selective use of natural light.
“Lighting was tricky,” he recalls. “I had to work with minimal gear and still get a powerful, cinematic look.”
To monitor his footage accurately, he used the Hollyland Pyro 5 directly connected to the camera. Shooting in S-Log3, he uploaded his own LUTs to convert the flat log image to REC.709 on-set, achieving an instant preview of the final look and ensuring consistency across every shot.

Inside the gym, the Pyro 5’s bright, color-accurate screen gave Melghazz full confidence in exposure and color balance.
“The zebra helped me control highlights, false color guided my midtones, and the histogram gave me a full exposure picture. Together, they gave me precision and peace of mind.”
These tools allowed him to capture properly exposed images in camera, saving hours in post-production. “There were no surprises later,” he says.
The Pyro 5 also made real-time collaboration simple. Melghazz could show the boxer and sponsor what the final graded footage would look like, allowing instant feedback and alignment on set.

As part of his broader Hollyland setup, Melghazz also uses Lark M2 and Lark Max 2 wireless microphones for crystal-clear sound, as well as Pyro S and VCORE systems for multi-camera direction. Yet among them all, the Pyro 5 stands out as his essential creative tool, compact, reliable, and built for precision.
“After eight years in video, I never imagined a monitor that does everything: monitor, transmitter, and receiver, all with this level of quality. Honestly, it’s the best on the market.”
For filmmakers who demand both flexibility and accuracy, Pyro 5 transforms on-set monitoring into an effortless experience.
From sports and fashion to commercial shoots, Melghazz continues to rely on it for clarity, confidence, and creative control in every frame.
With Hollyland, creators stay focused on the story, knowing every shot is precisely exposed, beautifully rendered, and production-ready.
“Reliable, bright, and beautifully designed, the Pyro 5 is my go-to monitor for every project.”
