About Hrvoje Bazina and His Team
Hrvoje Bazina was born in Zagreb, Croatia. He has been a member of the Association of Cinematographers in Bosnia-Herzegovina (ASBH) since 2024 and is also a Cinematography Educator at Wandering Film School—a filmmaking program that teaches high school students the art of film. Over the course of two weeks, students experience what it’s like to make a film from start to finish and explore various roles in the film industry. Hrvoje Bazina first joined the program as a student 12 years ago and is now one of the key figures running it alongside co-founder Lucy Eagleson.
Testing Background
It was a two-week workshop led by Hrvoje Bazina, with 30 students and 10 educators and mentors, held in the small town of Široki Brijeg in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Over the course of two weeks, students write, pitch, shoot, edit, and premiere a short film from start to finish. They learn as they go, with educators and mentors assigned to each role on set. These educators and mentors are either industry professionals or alumni of the program who have stepped into teaching roles.
The workshop functions like a bootcamp for young filmmakers, allowing them to see a project through from start to finish.
Everyone used the Hollyland Pyro S system with the Pyro 7 monitor as their primary monitoring solution. The director’s monitor was connected to a Pyro S receiver, Focus Puller used a Pyro 7 monitor, and the rest of the crew used iPads and iPhones whenever they needed to monitor footage.
Why Choose Hollyland Products Initially?
"We love using Hollyland products because of how easily and seamlessly they work together. We especially appreciated being able to simply connect a transmitter to our camera and send multiple signals out to different crew members. Our student Focus Puller really loved using the Pyro 7, as it was so easy to set up and allowed him to focus on what mattered. Another feature that our students love is the ability to use their phones and iPads as monitors. This is incredibly handy when making last-minute adjustments, so they don’t have to run between the director’s monitor and whatever they’re adjusting."

How Does Hollyland's Pyro Ecosystem Help?
Ensure Smooth Coordination
"The Pyro ecosystem not only enhances students' technical understanding but also fosters a more efficient and creative filmmaking environment."
-- Tvrtko Bubalo, Directing Educator at Wandering Film School
Pyro S is a groundbreaking addition to the Hollyland Pyro series lineup, which redefines wireless video transmission. Pyro S supports HDMI and SDI input / output and can transmit to up to four receivers simultaneously, with a range of up to 1,300ft (400m) and minimal latency of just 50ms. Pyro 7 is compatible with Pyro S, which means you can easily pair Pyro 7 with Pyro S. This provides you with greater flexibility and scalability to meet various monitoring needs.
More Flexible for More Monitoring Needs
"A film set is a busy environment, and it is crucial for the cinematographer to be able to see what the camera sees at any moment. The Hollyview app was a great tool we used on the set of Wandering Film School, as it provided constant monitoring while on the move without compromising picture quality, thanks to the strong signal provided by Hollyland's Pyro System."
-- David Kraljević, Student DP at Wandering Film School
Pyro S's WifiBroadcast technology enables one transmitter to connect to four receivers with stable signals, offering more flexibility when additional monitoring needs emerge on set. When Broadcast mode is deactivated, the transmitter can transmit signals to at most two receivers and two mobile devices.
Easy Setup. Ready to Go.
"Setting up the Hollyland transmitter was quick and straightforward. Within minutes, we established a stable connection to the main monitor, allowing the crew to easily monitor the feed on their devices."
-- Bože Soldo, Student Script Supervisor at Wandering Film School
Pyro S supports preset grouping and pairing, obviating the need for users to repetitively and manually set up the transmitter and receivers. Time really matters to crew members.
Auto Frequency Hopping Technology
"The Pyro 7 focus screen provides a seamless experience with excellent focus peaking and an intuitive workflow. Its performance and signal reliability make it a valuable tool on set and a must-have addition for filmmakers who need something reliable and intuitive."
-- Roko Vidović, Student Focus Puller at Wandering Film School
Pyro 7 is equipped with Auto Frequency Hopping technology, which constantly scans and monitors the strength of the signal and interference across various frequency ranges to find the best wireless channel to use, resulting in a more reliable connection.
Overall Experience
"It definitely makes the production run smoother, as we can quickly set up a monitor anywhere. I would say it's the ease of use that our students always appreciate. A lot of our students are handling this equipment for the first time, so the simplicity of setup, as well as the good build quality—especially when it’s being handled by inexperienced hands—are two things we can always count on with Hollyland!"
