About Alberto Seghezzi and RECospy
Alberto Seghezzi is a filmmaker based in Italy but active worldwide, operating in different areas and field, with broad expertise in the music festivals and live concerts. He has been leading a crew of talented freelance filmmakers named RECopsy over the past years, working jointly with different crews to create advertisements, commercials, documentaries and creating or being part of the media team of the major music festivals in Italy. He has worked on commercials for renowned brands such as EA7 and Armani Exchange and directed and shot the documentary Infodemic, which landed on Prime Video.
Recently, he has collaborated with leading automotive brands including Maserati, Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Cupra, combining his passion for filmmaking with his background in mechanical engineering.
His love for the outdoors and sports has taken him on some of the most extreme and unpredictable filming experiences of his life — from climbing the second-highest mountain in Europe during a winter storm, to enduring a three-day survival challenge in the Saudi Arabian desert without food, water, or sleep, and even running and filming the New York City Marathon in November.
These experiences laid the foundation for his passion for sports filmmaking. With the support of his girlfriend Kiara — a talented filmmaker and photographer — he has had the opportunity to collaborate with Olympic athletes, capturing their stories and striving to express their dreams at their very best.
Raised in the world of electronic music and music videos, his creative drive has always been to bring a cinematic look and style to his work, even in the simplest of outdoor shots, mastering framing, lighting, and tones. This pursuit has led to the creation of striking projects that embody the idea of making the most out of any given moment, while relentlessly pushing toward the next step in the creative process.
At the heart of his work is the desire to tell powerful stories supported by strong imagery. He believes that when combined with carefully crafted details — sound, music, colors, and more — these elements create an immersive and lasting experience for the audience.
Oh, and there’s Giuseppe — definitely someone worth mentioning! Giuseppe Piacenza is a young and talented photographer based in Turin. Still in his early 20s, he caught Alberto’s team’s attention right after they spotted him during a show. He’s a passionate event photographer who loves to capture the feelings and emotions that arise in a music festival. As one of the newest members of the team, he immediately stood out for his determination and passion, which led him to shoot an incredible behind-the-scenes project for the team during the Kappa Futur Festival. “Thanks to him and Filippo Bodega’s Footage, we’re able with these shots to tell the story behind the hard work of the Team during the three day pure madness of the Festival,”said Alberto.
Testing Background
RECopsy partnered with Elephant Studio to form the official media team of Kappa Futur Festival — Italy’s biggest music festival, ranked 6th among the world’s top 100 festivals (just ahead of Coachella at #7). The 16th edition of the festival welcomed nearly 200,000 attendees across three days, featuring 9 stages running simultaneously.
Our media team scaled up to 76 professionals, including:
The production was massive:
Technical Setup & Hollyland Integration at Kappa Futur Festival
The Kappa Futur Festival is an all–open-air event, with the only partial cover being the Futur Stage, which features an open-sided roof. All other stages are fully outdoors, meaning the media team had to work under constant exposure to dust, extremely loud music, and unpredictable weather conditions. While artist performance areas were covered, camera operators moving throughout the festival grounds needed to be equipped to protect and continue operating their gear instantly in case of sudden rain.
For communication, Hollyland’s Solidcom H1 was the primary system deployed. RECopsy set up 2 antennas paired with 30 beltpacks, dynamically assigning packs to either antenna depending on daily operational needs. On average, each antenna supported around 15 beltpacks, with flexibility to reassign packs when team members (“jollies”) shifted between the reels team and the live recording team. Having a Hollyland technician on-site proved crucial for ensuring rapid configuration changes and keeping the team fully operational.
In addition, RECopsy integrated Hollyland Pyro series wireless video systems into the live production workflow. One live team — consisting of 3 camera operators and 4 remote stage cameras — operated with 1 Pyro 7 and 2 Pyro 5 units on handheld cameras. This setup allowed the camera leader to monitor and check the framing of other operators in real time by switching between signals directly on a personal on-camera monitor.
This provided a fast, mobile directing solution that substituted for a traditional director switcher, which could not be installed due to time and space limitations. Despite these constraints, the Pyro system enabled reliable coordination and high-quality live visuals across the festival’s massive open-air setup.
How Hollyland’s Audio and Video Systems Elevated the Production?
Exceptional Audio Quality
“The sound quality, volume, and noise cancellation are exceptional. We were able to work right under the speaker and still hear each other perfectly.” –Gianmarco
Furthermore, the H1 headsets delivered clear audio and excellent sound isolation. While there were initial concerns about wearing them all day due to their larger and bulkier design compared to the C1 Pro, the team experienced no issues. In fact, they proved surprisingly comfortable for extended use, and the audio quality was outstanding, making communication effortless throughout the festival.
Smart Group Management
“Being able to choose which team I could talk with was perfect for setting up the workflow properly.” –Umberto
The H1 system proved invaluable thanks to its powerful transmission, which allowed seamless communication across the entire festival area — even when tested at its limits. By contrast, the Solidcom C1 Pro sometimes struggled, particularly when the master headset was too far away or in extremely crowded areas where connectivity weakened.
A key advantage of the H1 was its call function. Team leaders could directly reach the producers with a single call, ensuring an immediate and clear response. This avoided the confusion of shouting into a headset, a common issue with radios or other systems. The feature enabled the teams to receive timely support whenever problems arose — whether it was a camera failure, a sudden loss of power, or even calling for security in urgent situations.
Long-Lasting Battery Life
“Loved not having to worry about the battery all day, these solid comms last forever!” –Paolo
On the first day of the festival, Alberto Seghezzi faced the challenge of working without any spare batteries for the beltpacks. To test and manage power consumption, he adjusted the settings by disabling unnecessary modules and lowering the brightness to a minimum. This simple yet strategic choice paid off.
Picked up at 2 p.m. and returned at midnight, the beltpacks still had about 40% battery remaining — a result that exceeded expectations. This discovery gave the team a sense of relief and confidence for the following days. With the knowledge that the battery life could comfortably last through long shifts, Alberto and his team could focus on the bigger picture: setting up cameras across the different stages and maintaining seamless communication, even from the earliest hours of preparation.
Up to 30 Beltpacks Supported
“I had never put 30 people on the same system before. I was worried it would end up a big mess, but it worked so well that we can’t do without it now. Love them!” –Thomas
The producers, stationed at the heart of the festival, acted like big brothers to the team. They guided the crews based on the festival direction’s requests — deciding what needed more coverage and what needed less. Having a production plan is important, but in live events there are always unpredictable moments worth capturing, and the producers made sure the team was ready for them.
Wrapping Up
“Having a central “brain” to guide the entire team — in this case, the producers — proved invaluable. They provided a clear overview of what was happening at any given moment: who was where, what each crew was handling, and whether everything was running smoothly. This structure significantly accelerated the workflow and ensured quick support in case of emergencies, whether it was unexpected battery drain, memory failures, sudden rain, or any other challenge that arose during the festival.”
