Omar Abdaallah, a student at the Faculty of Applied Arts, New Cairo University, is a budding visual creator with a passion for capturing culture and everyday life. Eager to test pro-level tools in real environments, Omar and a fellow student teamed up for a video project in one of Egypt’s most iconic locations.
“I’m a student filmmaker exploring creative tools that help me tell better stories.”
Omar used the Hollyland LARK A1 wireless microphone system—recommended through INFOCUS. After learning about its advanced noise cancellation and compact design, Omar was eager to put it to the test in the real world.
“The noise cancellation is perfect—that’s why I chose it.”
Omar and his colleague shot a video inside the Egyptian Museum, a challenging environment full of crowds, ambient noise, and strict security. Their goal? Evaluate the mic’s noise handling and signal range using just an iPhone.
The team consisted of two student videographers, with Omar both presenting and operating equipment alongside his collaborator. With limited gear and access, staying lightweight and efficient was key.
In a place where discretion is crucial, the small size of the LARK A1 allowed Omar’s team to film without drawing attention.
“The mic was very small and this was so useful—especially in security-sensitive places. It made us almost invisible while recording.”
The team noted perfect noise cancellation, even in the museum’s bustling public areas, and were impressed by the strong signal range and battery performance.
✔ What They Loved:
“I tested the mic in a very crowded place. The result was perfect.”
“Signal distance was great.”
With just a phone, a mic, and a story to tell, Omar proved that great content doesn’t require complicated setups—just the right tools.
