Hollyland’s Lark Max 2 brought professional-grade audio capture and wireless monitoring to a fast-paced corporate production in Kuala Lumpur, helping a commercial video team streamline interviews, voice-over recordings, and short film shoots in controlled indoor environments.
“It changed the way we do traditional audio recording. It’s so small, light, and easy to use.”
Based in Malaysia, Yuki Eyok works in commercial video production, handling projects that range from corporate interviews and voice-over recordings to short-form narrative films. Operating across different client environments, Yuki’s work often requires compact setups that can deliver consistent, high-quality audio without adding complexity to already busy production schedules.

The project took place at a client office in Kuala Lumpur, involving a production team of around 20 people. The scope included corporate interviews, voice-over recordings, and short film content, all captured within indoor, enclosed environments such as office rooms and even inside vehicles.
With multiple interview candidates scheduled throughout the shoot, the team needed an audio solution that could be deployed quickly, reused efficiently, and monitored reliably without slowing down transitions between subjects.
In total, 4–5 team members interacted with the audio system during production. While two microphones were available, they were used one at a time across different interviewees, making fast pairing and stable performance essential.

Traditional audio setups often require larger recorders, more cabling, and a dedicated sound recordist focused solely on monitoring levels. For this project, that approach would have added unnecessary complexity to a tightly scheduled corporate shoot.
Lark Max 2 was chosen for its compact form factor, 32-bit float recording, and wireless monitoring capabilities, allowing the team to capture clean, high-quality audio while staying agile in confined spaces.
“Some projects don’t even require a dedicated sound recordist anymore.”

Throughout the shoot, Lark Max 2 demonstrated how a smaller system can deliver professional results. The 32-bit float audio provided confidence during interviews and voice-over sessions, protecting recordings from unexpected level changes without constant manual adjustment.
Wireless monitoring proved equally valuable. Directors and operators could monitor audio in real time without standing next to the camera or recorder, which was especially helpful in closed environments like office rooms and car interiors.
“So good that we can monitor audio wirelessly.”
With fewer cables and faster setup, the team was able to move smoothly between interview subjects. Pairing and switching microphones was handled efficiently, allowing production to stay on schedule even with multiple candidates.

Beyond audio quality, the biggest impact of Lark Max 2 was on workflow. Its small size and ease of use reduced the need for specialized audio roles on certain projects, freeing up crew resources and simplifying coordination.
“Some projects, we no longer need someone fully dedicated to sound recording.”
Stable wireless connections ensured reliable monitoring throughout the shoot, while the system’s overall simplicity made it easier for team members to adapt quickly, even when switching setups between interviews.
For Yuki Eyok, Lark Max 2 proved to be a practical, efficient audio solution for corporate interviews and short-form productions. By combining compact design, 32-bit float audio, and reliable wireless monitoring, it helped reduce setup time, simplify crew workflows, and maintain professional audio quality across a variety of indoor shooting scenarios.
Lightweight yet capable, Lark Max 2 allowed the team to focus less on managing equipment and more on directing, storytelling, and delivering polished content for their clients.
