About Conrad Lobst

Conrad Lobst, a freelance Cinematographer from Germany with a specialization in feature and TV films, has been on a quest for effective communication solutions on set for many years.

Discovery and Decision

Conrad discovered the Solidcom C1 Pro through a combination of online research and word of mouth recommendations. After years of experimentation with various systems that failed to meet his needs, he decided to give the Solidcom C1 Pro a try.

Project: "TSCHAPPEL"

In the production of "TSCHAPPEL," a fictional comedy series centering on the lives of three young adults in the German countryside, Conrad Lobst utilized the Solidcom C1 Pro. This 8-episode series was broadcasted on ZDF NEO, a German TV station catering to a young audience.

Team Composition

Conrad's Camera Crew consisted of 8 members, while the entire crew totaled around 40 individuals. The Camera Department, responsible for camera, lighting, and grip aspects, managed different setups daily on real locations, including challenging car scenes with various setups from trailers to studios.

Efficiency Boost

“The Solidcom C1 Pro helps the crew to speed up our work and increase the efficiency of the team. ”

As the industry scales up, the number of people involved in production is increasing, with roles becoming more specialized. Event venues are no longer limited to a single studio, theater, or sports arena, and may even span different cities or countries. The venue could involve multiple studios or cover hundreds of square meters in various corners, making it impossible for the on-site team to gather in one place. To facilitate collaboration, production teams need to rely on wireless internal communication tools.

In the past, people often used walkie-talkies, but these devices operate in half-duplex mode, meaning you can't listen and speak simultaneously; communication requires pressing a button, resulting in low efficiency. Therefore, full-duplex wireless intercom systems utilize full-duplex communication technology, enabling multiple users to engage in real-time communication and support uninterrupted continuous conversations. This system eliminates the traditional walkie-talkie's one-at-a-time half-duplex communication method, resolving issues such as line occupation during emergencies, enabling smoother and more timely communication.

Comfortable to Wear

“The availability of two cup options added to the comfort level.”

The Solidcom C1 Pro headset is crafted using PC-ABS materials, making it incredibly lightweight—a mere 170g (6oz) with the battery included and super compact. The upgraded over-ear leather cushion better fits the human ear structure for added stability and comfort, perfect for anyone who works in challenging environments. Durable on-ear foam cushions are also provided to address different wearing preferences. Simply use them as needed and enjoy the experience of incredible portability and comfort without compromising quality.

Group Talking

“The flexibility offered by A + B groups was highly appreciated.”

The Solidcom C1 Pro Hub Version supports two groupings, enabling enhanced communication efficiency among personnel by allocating them into different groups.

Durable Headset Quality

“The headsets were durable, comfortable, and secure on the head.”

Before leaving the factory, the Solidcom C1 Pro headsets undergo vibration and impact tests. Additionally, the double injection-molded body ensures a sturdy quality, guaranteeing that accidental drops do not lead to significant issues with the product.

1,100ft (350m) Transmission Range

“The Solidcom C1 Pro offered a reliable and impressive transmitting range.”

The transceiver built into the Solidcom C1 Pro master headset offers a reliable wireless two-way communication range of up to 1,100ft (350m). Your team can keep connected and move freely across an expansive space at major events, such as church productions, TV & film productions, live performances & events, and more.

Hub

“The Hub's versatility, multiple power options, wired headset compatibility, RJ45 ports, among others, were standout features.”

If A & B grouping and the ANNOUNCE function are desired, a hub (including a wired headset) can be easily incorporated into any number of headsets. A hub-based system supports a communication team with up to 9 members.
