One Take, One Vision: Hollyland Wireless Ecosystem Powers Bogor Music Video

By Hollyland | September 19, 2025

Hollyland delivers a powerful wireless ecosystem for both monitoring and communication, keeping every role aligned even in the most high-pressure, one-take environments.
“Lightweight, reliable, and built for moments when there’s no room for error.”

Meet Juan Setiadarma

Juan Setiadarma, a Director of Photography based in Jakarta, grew up watching his parents return from film sets with stories of how cameras captured emotions words could not. Since graduating in 2018, Juan has built a career across commercials and music videos, guided by one clear belief: a monitor is more than a screen; it’s a window into the story. For that window to work, it must move with the pace of the set, remain portable for dynamic shooting, and reveal the finest details with absolute accuracy.

Challenge & Setup

For a recent music video at Tuku Pajajaran in Bogor, Juan faced one of the most demanding setups of his career: a single-take sequence in a fully operating café. Customers were ordering coffee, musicians performed live, and audio was being recorded on the spot. With 35 crew members squeezed into a tight space, any missed cue or unstable image would mean restarting from zero, an expensive setback in such a live environment.

On top of that, the café was saturated with wireless signals, from other video senders to audio transmitters. As Juan moved fluidly with his handheld stabilizer, he needed a lightweight yet reliable monitoring system, while the director and team required instant communication to keep the entire one-take sequence synchronized.

Reliable Monitoring with Pyro 5

For Juan, the biggest challenge was monitoring in a high-pressure, one-take environment. Moving continuously with a handheld stabilizer meant he needed total freedom from cables, yet the café was already packed with competing wireless signals. The Pyro 5 provided the clarity and confidence he needed: a high-brightness screen that stayed visible even in dim corners, and an integrated wireless transmitter that delivered a rock-solid feed throughout the crowded space. A secondary receiver sent the live feed to a TV outside the café, so clients and collaborators could follow the shoot without stepping into the set.

Clear Communication and Confident Monitoring

One of the biggest pain points of the Bogor shoot was keeping visuals accurate while coordinating a 35-person crew inside a live café. For Juan, operating a handheld stabilizer meant constant movement—there was no room for cable clutter, no time for reconnecting, and no chance to double-check mistakes. On top of that, the café was already crowded with wireless signals, creating the risk of unstable feeds or delayed monitoring.

The Pyro 5 addressed these challenges head-on. Its integrated transmitter gave Juan complete freedom from cables, while its high-brightness screen stayed clear even in dim corners of the café. More importantly, the signal held steady despite heavy wireless traffic, giving him the confidence to frame and expose shots precisely in real time. A secondary receiver extended that confidence to clients and collaborators outside the set, letting them follow progress without stepping into the already packed shooting space.

Meanwhile, the Solidcom SE system ensured the crew stayed in sync with what Pyro 5 was showing. Directors, producers, and operators could instantly react to Juan’s movements, delivering or executing adjustments without interrupting the one-take flow. Pyro 5 kept the image reliable, Solidcom SE kept the communication instant, and together they turned what could have been a chaotic live environment into a coordinated performance.

With these tools working hand in hand, the Bogor team overcame the noise, the crowd, and the pressure of a one-take challenge, bringing the music video to life in a single, fluid motion.

Takeaways

For Juan and his crew, the Bogor project proved that Hollyland’s wireless ecosystem could transform high-stakes shoots into manageable, confident productions. The Solidcom SE ensured clarity in communication, while the Pyro 5 delivered freedom and precision in monitoring. Together, they gave the team the confidence to execute a flawless one-take performance inside a fully operational café.

Looking ahead, Juan hopes Hollyland will continue refining its wireless solutions for even lower latency and greater flexibility. But for now, one truth is clear: with Hollyland, even the most ambitious one-take productions can be achieved with confidence.
“Reliable, practical, and packed with features, exactly what we needed.”
