Doublelift’s Retirement Home Tournament is an invitational event hosted by the legendary ADC himself, featuring four teams of retired pros, both former LCS stars and OG names from the pre‑LCS era, competing over two days for a $20,000 prize pool before the top two teams advanced to the finals. Doublelift put together this nostalgic tournament to honor his roots and the early days of League esports. It was streamed live on his Twitch channel and drew over 8 million total views across all streams.

The tournament was produced as a live broadcast similar to top-tier esports productions using a mix of consumer and professional equipment. The venue was equipment-dense with complex wireless signals and an existing Dante-based audio infrastructure, so reliable communication and seamless system integration were critical. Nearly 20 crew members, including the control room staff, camera crew, talent team, and PAs, relied on the Solidcom H1 to stay connected. Different production roles also required separate communication groups throughout the live broadcast.

Seamless Integration with Existing Dante Audio Systems

The production team’s audio system was built around Dante networking. With built-in Dante support, Solidcom H1 Geo Central Station connected directly to the venue’s Dante/AES67 network. This made it easier to integrate the intercom system into the existing broadcast environment.

Overall Experience

Solidcom H1’s full-duplex 1.9 GHz wireless communication and Dante integration helped a nearly 20-member production crew stay connected across the large, equipment-dense studio space. A single Solidcom ANT01 supports up to 20 beltpacks and 12 independent groups. With the Geo Central Station, the system scales up to 80 beltpacks and manages up to 100 groups. This reliable communication helped the production team maintain smooth coordination throughout the live esports broadcast.
